It is a youth oriented after school Brazilian music and dance program based at Cheremoya Avenue Elementary School in Hollywood California. One of the unique features of the group is the wide range of ages of the participants. Several students have started the program in elementary school, but stayed with the program on through middle school and high school. Three current members of group, who started as elementary school students are now attending colleges in the Los Angeles area. Members learn many music music and dance forms of Brazil including Samba, Frevo, Maculelê, Dances of the Orixa's, and Samba Reggae. Recently, the percussionists have added some Afro-cuban elements to their wide range of musical styles.
